Dresden - 64 years later
Some 6,000 demonstrators turned out to remember the terrible and senseless fire-bombing of this classic German city 64 years ago.  Naturally the controlled press felt it necessary to refer to them as 'Neo-Nazis' but they were just patriotic Germans as we can see it.  Additionally, these same controlled 'reporters' felt compelled to report (?) that counter-demonstrators outnumbered those who remembered this terrible day.  To us, it did not appear that counter-demonstrators outnumbered them but them we do not have the ability to project our figures in the press as if they were indeed accurate.  One way or another, we applaud those who turned out to remember this dark day in German history.

Hans Schmidt writes

Manfred Roeder is
Released from Prison!
A few years earlier, right wing German patriot Manfred Roeder ran against Kohl and Schroeder in the election that was ultimately won by Gerhard Schroeder.  During his campaign, Manfred committed the "unpardonable sin" of saying that Germany should stop paying the ten billion per year to Israel that they have been paying for years - and with no end in sight - they must pay this "blood money" forever!  In a speech, he stated that Germany does not owe this money because, he said, there were no gas chambers in the concentration camps and no concerted effort to stamp out the Jews.  In Germany (and most of Europe, Canada and some other countries) this is a crime - it is a felony TO EVEN SPEAK THESE WORDS!  

Manfred was tried and found guilty (big surprise!) and sentenced to prison.  He filed an appeal and during his appeal hearing, his attorney asked the prosecutor to furnish proof that there were gas chambers - AND THE LAWYER WAS ARRESTED IN COURT FOR JUST ASKING THAT QUESTION!

And so Manfred went to prison, to begin his time with what he refers to as "diesel therapy"  which means that he was transferred by diesel bus, from prison to prison, again and again, so he would have no real base.  But his time of pain is finished.

I have personally spoken to Manfred on his day of release and he is in wonderful spirits and looking forward to moving forward.  He was once again in his home on the mountaintop in Hessen, where his friends and neighbors were enjoying a big celebration for his return.

He had once organized a youth movement to teach German young teens, about their true heritage - the history, the songs, the customs of a once proud and civilized Germany.  We expect this program to be reborn quite soon.

There had been concerns that the German Government might try to drum up some additional charges against Manfred while he was in prison, so they could keep him in prison with charge after charge, until he eventually died of old age there.  Fortunately, this was not the case.

9 November some decades on, the march on Feldherrenhalle (commonly known as the 'Beer Hall Putsch')  as remembered by a friend who fought with von Mannstein in the Crimea:
     "You are only able to estimate the meaning of the protest of the National Socialists when you are  informed about the historical circumstances in Germany during the period of time.  For weeks there was chaos on the streets.  In some cities, there was the law unto itself (anarchy).  This was mainly the case in Hamburg, Düsseldorf and the occupied Ruhrgebeit where the French supplied the rebelling people with money and weapons.
     The Communist Party in Moscow ordered their members in Germany to the front.  The Communists were put together in groups of hundred people and drilled by illegally immigrated Russians in shooting.  Their leader was General Skobolewsky who was sent from Russia to Germany.  The German Army, called the 'Deutsche Reichwehr' this time, could from time to time call the public to order and capture General Skobolewsky.
     The overall poverty of the people and the missing of food increased rapidly.  There was not much place to live and people were freezing because according to the Treaty of Versailles, almost all coal had to be sent to France.  In Oktober 1923, the American dollar was worth 5 Billion German Marks and later on, 68 Billion Marks.  This was the time to react.  Movements in Bavaria intended to become independent from Berlin.  The National Socialists tried to avoid this by marching towards the Feldherrenhalle in München.  They wanted to declare a new republic to be born and wanted to march toward Berlin then.
     Under the ovations of the citizens of München, Hitler's men marched towards the Feldherrenhalle.  On Odeonsplatz, several rows of soldiers with guns and machine guns were standing.  The center of the place has been occupied by a tanklike car.  Those who were marching do not believe that they will be shot.  When the first bullets fly, some demonstrators from the first row are hit.  Göring is severely injured and lies on the ground.  There are also shots from the car in the middle row.  The group of marching demonstrators dissolves.  Twenty deaths are lying in their blood on the ground.  Hitler is only a little injured.
     Adolf Hitler was sent to prison in Landsberg for one year.  Many others, like Göring, here helped to flee to Austria.

And Now it is Austria

5 September 2003 - Wolfgang Fröhlich, age 52, is described by some in Austria as a "Neo-Nazi and Holocaust Revisionist", and that is not safe in most of Europe today.  The 52 year old man is known for his claims that it was impossible for the Nazis to have killed six million Jews because the gas chambers were too small.

When imposing his sentence of one year in prison and two more years suspended, the Vienna court said they "took into consideration what they called his multitude of incriminating acts and the long period of time over which they were committed".  The 52 year old engineer was also a Member of Parliament in Jörg Haider's Freedom Party.  One might wonder if that was also considered an 'incriminating act'.

Dig up the Heroes?

4 September 2003 - The city of Vienna announced that it would re-examine all "Graves of Honor" awarded to worthy citizens between 1939 and 1945 when Austria was part of 'Greater Germany'.  The decision by Austria, according to the Reuters report, was to "atone for its Nazi past".

In May of 2003, the Vienna City Council took the controversial step of voting to strip the "Grave of Honor" distinction of Luftwaffe Major Walter Nowotny who shot down 258 enemy planes during World War II.  There are several thousand "Graves of Honor" in Vienna, awarded to prominent citizens for services to their country.

The move to remove this distinction from Nowotny, was initiated by Greens Party city councilman David Ellensohn, whose grandfather was a Royal Air Force pilot shot down over Belgium.  He said he knew of two more "prominent Nazi Graves of Honor" in Vienna.  Ellensohn stated:
          "These two graves should not be Honor Graves.  Nobody's asking
            for the bodies to be dug up and removed.  All we want is a plaque
           stating that this was formerly an Honor Grave and why it no longer is."

In March 2003, Austria took back a medal ,the "Austrian Cross of Honor First Class, for Science and Art" from Dr. Heinrich Gross and claimed that he had killed children during the war years.  His was the first war crimes trial in Austria in more than 20 years.  They waited until he was a senile old man, suffering from dementia, before bringing charges.  Due to his mental condition, the trial was suspended - but the medal was taken back.

Manfred Roeder Arrested - again.

October 2001 - There can be no doubt that the German Government is doing everything possible to silence this leader of the movement to bring German traditions back to the youth of that country, and to correct the propaganda stories that still to this day, are being taught to German children at every level of their schooling.  He was  arrested again.

            Here is the text of a letter from one of Manfred's friends and supporters:
"You might have heard about Manfred Roeder's arrest.  It came suddenly out of the blue.  This was the second hearing about his election speech in which he said that Germany should stop paying ten billion to Israel (with no end in sight) because, he said, there were no gas chambers and no extermination camps."

The first sentence was cancelled because of serious errors.  Manfred and everyone else thought the second hearing could therefore only result in a minor sentence, if not out and out acquittal.  But it was worse than anything before!

"The judge showed personal hatred from the beginning.  He handed out a sentence of one year and nine months, and had Manfred arrested on the spot - right in court!  In handcuffs, he was transported to the nearby jail.  The alleged reason for this - Manfred might escape and fly to another country because he has so many friends everywhere."

"He did not escape after the first verdict, which was much tougher.  Why should he try to escape after the penalty was lowered by half a year?  The court obviously was under (Government?) pressure.  A year before, he was sentenced to one year with probation because he had ridiculed the holocaust.  Immediately the Jewish Central Committee cried 'Hell and murder' and indicated that to let him go with just probation is a capitulation of the judicial system to the so-called dangerous Nazi, Manfred Roeder."

After that, no court could ever dream of a mild sentence.  They just had to put him in jail.  His defense council made the remark:
                'Now they have made you a martyr!'

We hope so.

"His determination has strengthened like never before.  If someone is handcuffed and put in jail for an election campaign of 4 ½ years ago, it is the end of any justice, and it is the end to all decency of democracy.  This system has no right to exist any longer.  It must go!"

With his last words, he chastised the court for having started the whole procedure, and finished by saying:
          'I have campaigned as an idealist.  I have attacked the corruption of the parties in     
       power.  I wanted to show an alternative of a free and proud country.  No court has
      the right to penalize an election.  Only the voters have to decide which candidate is 
       guidable, no court!  Therefore this court can either acquit me or put shame on itself.'

His enemies are so determined to destroy him because the young generation is coming in ever growing numbers to his center where they learn the old German traditions.  They get training for life.  They learn how to behave; they learn history and who are their great heroes.  They learn to speak publicly and to organize festivals.  They had their huge Summer Solstice with 150, mostly young people.  A bonfire, big & beautiful as never before - ten yards high and crowned with a great rune of life.  They had ancient competitions like throwing big stones and trees, spears and arrows, wrestling and running.  It was fantastic.

"Learning songs and singing is always the heart of our meeting.  We do it regularly every month.  This is the real reason why they want to put him in jail.  But they made a mistake."

His son Konrad and friends have taken full responsibility and continue his work.  "It is going on, and new friends are coming, stirred up by the persecution we suffer.  It is motivating our determination.  We will never give up.  They can persecute us, even kill us - but they can never silence us and stop the battle."
